Boro v QPR ... Live Blog
MATCHDAY fun and frolics here, live and direct from stuttering Boro's crunch clash with QPR. Feel free to make wildly inaccurate stabs at pre-match punditry and we'll have a laugh at them later. You can also post your post match rants here.

Being a pundit is easy. 3-0 to the boro. There’s no way on this earth we won’t win.
Later on I will explain exactly how we have got beat 3-0. There you go easy.
Any team news?
So what happened? Mosso was alright to the 70th minute. And then?
**AV writes: He lasted the full 96 minutes didn't he?
Another ugly win, but it tastes better than Posh. The McManus/Wheater partenrship is really blossoming - midfield was effective, and I'm not that unhappy w/ JA's performance on the wings...
Great chat on the blog - well done AV/Mosso/and the cast of dozens...
Nice to see the blog back, AV. Really delighted. I did not join in as me missus had a 50th anniversary today. So I needed to take her our (she been to a few Boro match during the years though - at least in 1989 already - I bought her a Garmin (!) Forerunner today). But I promise I won't miss a match again for a tenner.
Great result, too. Up the Boro!!!
Dissapointing day given that the jawdees got a lucky win at Watford.
I missed the Live Blog, mainly because I have become accustomed to it failing and so seek my match info from all the usual rubbish sources.
Anyhow, reading it after the game of course was very enjoyable and I'll be sure to tune in next time to join in the fun.
The Good: A dour win I suppose but that's three points and it keeps us firmly in the hunt for the sixth spot. Good to see Arca finally on the bench although I'd still prefer young Josh with us instead of Rotherham. What's up with that?
Sounds like we should have had three pens; when was the last time a player scored a hat trick, all from the penalty spot? Anyhow, I think Robbo was robbed of a great opportunity to get in the record books.
The bad: I think young Franksy should start; sounds like he gave us a bit of a spark and I think Strachan's making a mistake because Aliadiere just doesn't cut it for me. I suppose I shouldn't be so harsh on the lad seeing as he won us a pen.
The ugly: Seeing Jones sat on the bench fills me with dread and 17,500 (14,000) very quiet Boro fans not really enjoying themselves at all.
It is ok to launch into spontaneous chanting, songs and merriment for the whole game, isn't it? If the game is that dire, I'd want to take my mind off it and get value for money by creating an atmosphere.
Sorry if I sound very harsh but I don't see the point of going to a match and just sitting on your hands whispering to your nearest neighbour and exchanging a few niceties to pass the time of day.
Opposition results: Leicester continue to barnstorm their way up the League to a point where they are out of touch. Well done to Nigel who seems to be working a few miracles there.
Cardiff's mauling at the hands of ten~man Preston was obviously the best result that went our way, other than our own of course but Plymouth's valiant efforts to share the spoils at Sheffield Utd was not enough and keeps them ahead of us by one point, with a game in hand.
Blackpool's 1-0 loss at the hands of Barnsley (two points behind us by the way) was yet another plus point for us.
All in all, not a bad weekend at all and I am looking forward to next week while although full of cold courtesy of a great white northern cold front moving into south western parts of Ontario, I'll nonetheless be smiling and be in a very happy mood for at least seven days!
Then it'll be time for us to go to Wales and steamroller Cardiff next Sat'di. 1500 rowdy Boro fans will do nicely.
The great news is that at least we're not going out like a damp squib. Still everything to fight for with the rotund lady nowhere to be seen just yet.
Adam Newton ~ "Dissapointing day given that the jawdees got a lucky win at Watford."
They yet again prove that to win a League you don't necessarily have to win pretty every game. I admire their tenacity and team spirit. I reckon the huge Newcastle contingent among a near record~breaking crowd of 17,000 plus at Watford are made up.
Credit where credit's due ~ well done to them.
Well done Mosso and Anthony, it is good to see they made up.
Sadly I couldnt join in but I got a Brucie bonus. My wife wanted to go to Brum to meet up with our daughter. lunch, shopping etc. 'Sadly' Emma has had an assignment brought forward at Uni and needed to work on it. That is what she told Judith anyway. Being a decent chap I suggested she goes to York. Coughs discretely at this point.
So there I was at the Riverside. Funniest part was when we got the first pen and I warned the people around me that Boro hadnt scored whilst I watched a home match this season. They were not impressed then like buses two came along together.
More thoughts in due course.
**AV writes: Yes, Mosso and I shook hands pre-match. It was a bit tense after the turmoil of the last few weeks and with the world watching but you have to be professional about these things and crack on with it.
Glad to see Mosso Cloudfiles back on the pitch. I was at the game: great to have three points but it was much more fun reading through the live blog. Some real laughs.
AV, you have a few naughty boys just waiting for you to go for a half time feed so they can play up (wedgies, chinese burns, chemical warfare - you name it, they do it).
Congratulations to Mosso. He has heeded the Strachanovite edicts on fitness and lasting the full 96 minutes has had a good stretch of his legs.
Unfortunately, the South East Virtual Terrace gateway did not cope after 70 minutes.
Perhaps it was the news of Carrot and Coriander soups, Multi Grain Breads with Vegemite, Oranges and Satsumas, Doughnut halves, Wagon Wheels and even Jammy Dodgers that did it.
And us, all 3 billion, crowded round a single bowl of Rice.
